Balcony Gardening Tokyo

Some colour on our balcony for autumn.

Togarashi almost ready for harvest and drying on the balcony.

There is still life in our water garden!

The completed homework.

Today as part of her summer homework Karen drew a picture of the flower above and wrote the following description : きれいなはなだとおもいました。みずいろみたいなむらさき。

A surprise in the water garden this morning.

Goya. It must be the easiest plant to grow on a balcony in Tokyo.

Our first hibiscus flower. Since starting hula the girls have been Hawaii crazy so a hibiscus plant was a must have addition to the balcony garden.

A small but perfectly patterned watermelon on the balcony.

Karen planted this morning glory at school. As part of her summer homework she must care for it over the holidays. Its coming along nicely.

A watermelon amongst the morning glories. Hope it survives the approaching typhoon.

After roughly two months our medaka and water garden are still in good health.

トマトが、大きくなった!すごい!映恋より!

Our first watermelons. We have three grape sized watermelons taking shape on the balcony.

Pumpkin flowering.
